Welcome

About

This site was made by Randi Bolt, an undergrad mathematics and statistics student at Portland State University for Statistics - 451 : Applied Statistics for Engineers and Scientists during the Summer of 2021. Most of the definitions, theorems, example problems and homework problems are from the book Probability and Statistics for Engineering and the Sciences, Enhanced Edition, 9th ed., with some class examples and notes from Subhash Kochar. Other than that the rest of the site and work (both in homework and examples) is my own.

Each chapter is shown in the navigation bar above, and divided into four sections : Definitions, Theorems, Examples, and Homework.

For questions, comments, or curiosity check out the contact page for my email, and other projects I have worked on during my undergraduate degree.

Enjoy :D

Home This page tells a little about the site, and the updates on each page. This page is up to date.
1 : Statistics No content on this page. Will fill this page out at the end of the term.
2 : Probability There are a few definitions and axioms availble from chapter 2. Will fill this page out at the end of the term.
3 : Discrete Random Variables and Probability Distributions This page has Definitions, Theorems, and Examples from chapter 3, as well as Homework 4 which covers chapter 3 material. A few examples aren’t finished, and a couple images could be replaced with text. Also missing day 7 examples, and homework 5.
4 : Continuous Random Variables and Probability Distributions All of chapter 4 definitions, theorems, and class examples (and notes) from 7/22 class examples
5 : Joint Probability Distributions and Random Samples No content on this page Definitions, Theorems, Examples
6 : Point Estimation No content on this page Definitions, Theorems, Examples
